When disaster strikes
Natural disasters are devastating no matter where in the world they occur. They destroy lives, tear communities apart and cause widespread destruction.
A recent flooding disaster in Nepal threatened to cause massive damage and hardship to the local community. Torrential rain caused the river to burst its banks and send floodwater ripping through the local farms, towns and homes.
In such a dire scenario it is easy to react with utter despair. The feeling of powerlessness and of uncertainty is almost impossible to shake. However, one phenomenal woman was able to use her skills and wisdom to bring calmness, peace and hope to those affected by the disaster.

Not all heroes wear capes
Rawat Kanchan is a modern day hero. Reacting quickly and compassionately to the flooding, she used her talents and her training in Nirvana® Breathing Fitness to ease the hearts and minds of the afflicted.
Teaching in her unique style, Rawat is working to alleviate the intense suffering and to build long lasting resilience in the face of controversy. Despite losing everything, in a few horrifying moments of disaster, Rawat’s training and guidance provides people with hope where hope is so desperately needed. She is an inspiration to her students and to all of us in how she chooses to react to her unfortunate circumstances – no matter what horrors befall her she reminds us that "she is breathing, she is present and she is Tuki”.
The gift of the breath Rawat has been instrumental in helping the flood victims of Nepal rebuild their lives. While new houses, new construction and new planning will all be necessary to prevent a future disaster, Rawat has given the people something far more powerful; the gift of internal strength, the ability to face the hard challenges of life and see them through.
This teaches us that even in the darkest moments of our life, the breath is always available to us. It is there to bring us back, to remind us that we are all connected and that no matter what happens outside of us, we are alive, we are here and this life remains truly a fascinating gift.
